Faculty

Greetings!  Southwestern University Bookstore values its partnership with SU Professors, realizing our mutual goal of giving SU Students successful learning experiences.  It is our wish to support and facilitate our faculty’s teaching efforts through our services.  We extend an invitation to all faculty members to stop by soon to introduce yourselves and tell us how we can help you.  It is particularly important for you to meet our textbook manager, Sharon Thomason. We look forward our visit!

Faculty plays a larger role than you might realize in ensuring that students are able to obtain textbooks at reasonable prices and in a timely manner.  SU Bookstore relies on you, the professor, to submit your textbook orders (adoptions/requisitions) on time. Timely faculty textbook orders allow us to source the correct textbooks, obtain an appropriate supply of used textbooks, and to buy back used texts from our own student base, thereby keeping book prices lower by eliminating costly off campus freight charges. On the other hand, a delayed textbook order can result in text inventory shortages, students unable to obtain required texts and a complete lack of quality used textbooks.

In these times of high freight fuel charges and conservation priority, we beg you to take your responsibility seriously and get those textbook requests in to the bookstore on time!

Your students will thank you when you do your part by submitting your textbook orders to us as early as possible each semester!

Do you want to submit a textbook requisition now?

If you are an SU Professor, you should have received a bookstore letter regarding Textbook Requisition Submission.  If you have questions, call our Textbook Manager, Sharon Thomason. Contact her at 512-863-1287 or email thomasos@southwestern.edu.  Remember, our textbook department is always open and ready to serve you!

To submit your textbook adoption now, please visit our FACULTY REQUISITION site. This secure site is a function of Southwestern University’s website, www.southwestern.edu.
